5 Ways to Keep your Summer Glow

Winter is here, and along with the cold weather comes dark hair, matte makeup and sleek ensembles. But just because the weather is getting drier doesn’t mean you have to lose your summer glow this season.

While many use December to ramp up the vampiness of their looks, you can choose to hold onto the little color left in your skin. Recycle your favorite summer pieces and sprinkle in a little bronze to keep the freshness going strong all season long. Here are five of my favorite summer products and looks that I’ve carried into my winter glam.

1. Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit in That Glow

There’s nothing like a good highlighter to give you that glowing from within, luminous look. I just started to play with highlighters and have absolutely fallen in love with the Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit in That Glow. While the bronzy tones scream summer, the lower two rose gold tones (Bubbly and Dripping in Gold) can easily be applied to a winter makeup look to help bring it to life. The high-end product retails on the Anastasia Beverly Hills website for $40.

2. Pura Vida Bracelets

To give your chunky winter jewelry some charm, try pairing it with a few Pura Vida Bracelets. Every Pura Vida Bracelet is carefully handcrafted by artisans in Costa Rica. The bracelets come in a variety of colors and style options. I personally love pairing their gold charm bracelets with my own gold bangles for a fun, eclectic look. The bracelets are sold separately and in bundles.

3. Shea Moisture Coconut and Hibiscus Body Products

I recently discovered Shea Moisture and my skin has been silky smooth ever since – perfect for fighting the effects of dry, winter air. I’ve been using the 2-in-1 Foaming Milk Body Wash in combination with the Body Butter. The products are gluten-free, packed with Vitamin E and smell like a dream.

4. Bandanas

Remember those paisley bandanas you used to wear in middle school and for college biker themed socials? Well, they’re back – and not nearly as tacky as before! In the right color, an accessorized bandana can add a bit of summer whimsy to an otherwise static look. Not only are they cute as can be, but you can get them at your local Walmart for only $2.

5. Balayage

Swap the dark locks for some brightness by getting a balayage treatment done to your hair. While the sun-kissed look may not seem winter appropriate, you can opt for a more reddish, auburn look as opposed to a summer blond. This will keep your hair fresh and give the illusion of movement in the dead of winter.
