White Details for Winter in Miami
Winter in Miami is a lot like every other season in Miami – mostly sunny, a few rainy days here and there, and the occasional burst of cool weather that has every Miamian digging through their closet for that one warm-ish sweater. This Miami winter has been no different. The beauty of a not-too-cold winter is that you get to mix and match seasonal pieces to come up with some nontraditional looks.
This winter, my closet underwent a big makeover. I tossed a lot of my old, worn out pieces for new ones in my new favorite clothing color: white. I love wearing white because, despite the old “Don’t wear white after Labor Day” saying, it’s a color that transcends through each season beautifully. It’s more striking than black and is flattering on every skin tone.
One of my favorite ivory pieces I purchased this winter is this mini skort from Tobi. The skort is as comfy as it looks, as the fabric is a rayon, nylon and spandex combo. And being that it’s a skort, you never have to worry about it riding up and ruining your vibe! Tobi has a gorgeous selection of skorts, so if you’re a fan of skirts but not a fan of discomfort, I highly recommend giving the comfier alternative a try.
Another winter white piece I recently purchased are these leather Steve Madden booties. Not only are the heels the perfect not-to-high, not-too-low height, but the chunky heel makes them easy to dress down for the daytime or dress up for a night out. These bad boys are going to be replacing my white Chucks these year and will definitely become a staple item of mine.
For this look, I chose to pair my new skort and booties with a slouchy, festive sweater from Express. Not only is the fabric deliciously soft, but this thing actually keeps you warm! It’s a must for the rare 50 degree day down in South Florida.
I completed the look with a Christmas present from my mom: a gorgeous rose gold ring from Swarovski, which is just delicate enough to wear every day.
